TATTOO FLASH AND PAINTED WORK
For me, tattooing what I tattoo really wouldn't be, had I not been able to work out so many things on paper first. That's where the ideas come together. Painting tattoo flash specifically, as well as pieces that would be traditional tattoos -are VERY much a part of what I do! in fact I couldn't imagine doing one without the other. Never. It wouldn't occur to me!
Painting is meditative, very peaceful, and without the chaos happening in a busy tattoo shop. Its the place to be where time isn't an issue - no next appointment waiting in the lobby, no pressure whatsoever. I can experiment, work out ideas and vibes and color palettes, without it being a permanent thing.
It also puts one's work all over the place; in different shops all over the world, hanging on the wall for a tattooer who works at THAT shop to tattoo it on someone. That's traditional tattooing. It's all about magic and how it stokes people, inspires people. THAT is the thing.
